AS
WELL AS ALLBREED RESCUES, THERE ARE SOME NO-KILL SHELTERS LISTED ON
THESE PAGES AND THEY ARE NOTED AS SUCH -- HOWEVER, PLEASE DO
CALL AND RECHECK THAT THESE ARE INDEED "NO KILL" BEFORE
SENDING ANY CAT THERE!
Dustie's House Rescue was founded in honor and memory of my beloved ferret,
Dustie, who taught me the value of every animal life. I take in only the number of cases that I can handle personally, though I work with other rescue groups in the area. I maintain a feral colony in the Hyde Park area of Austin, Texas. I am in the process of trapping, spaying and neutering the members of the colony. I also provide medical care (even when the medical needs are beyond basics such as
vacinations). I provide at my own expense testing for medical problems, dental care, grooming, and care of sick or injured animals. My goal is to help as many animals as possible. I have rescued dogs and birds, as well as cats and kittens, but I am really not set up to do this easily as I live in a condominium. When I do rescue a dog, I have to board the dog at my local vet's office while I try to locate an adopter. I am very selective about placement of the animals that I rescue.

PUREBREDS

TARRANT
COUNTY
The
focus of this rescue effort is on purebred cats without a human advocate; i.e.,
rescues from public and private shelters, etc. The cats are tested for feline
leukemia and feline aids and are negative. Each cat is given its rabies and
FVRCPC shots, and spayed or neutered. Any minor problems such as fleas or
earmites, etc., are treated, and the cat remains with the vet for several days
to be sure nothing serious is discovered. Once the kitty is deemed by the vet to
be A-ok, it comes to a special area at Cats in the Cradle, where potential
adoptive parents can fall in love with the kitty. The adoption fees vary,
depending on the kitty, its age, etc.

We are a non- profit orginization that fosters unwanted animals in our homes until we find a forever adoptive home for the animal. We have a questionare & contract to be filled out in our adoption. Our 55.00 adoption fee helps pay for the animals current shots, rabies & their spay/nueter. We are great advocates of spay/nueter!!!! we also take back any of our animals for the lifetime of our animals.
