Helping Human Victims of the Disaster 

* 9/16 The 9/11 Neediest Fund
  The NY Times has established a special, one-month Neediest
   Fund to collect contributions for victims of the World Trade 
   Center tragedy and their families.The 9/11 Neediest Fund, 
   managed by the New York Times Neediest Cases Fund, 
   will help provide financial relief to rescue workers and civilians 
   or their families. The Times will cover all administrative
   costs.
Contributions will be accepted through Oct. 11 and 
   may be mailed to:

* 9/16 A call to the New York State Emergency Management 
   Office hotline at (800) 801-8092, gives you a recording that 
   states "We have received a huge outpouring of donations 
   of goods, services and volunteers and we are most 
   grateful for that support. At this time emergency response 
   needs for goods and services have been met. Financial 
   donations for the
victims, survivors and their families

  While there has been a tremendous response to the call for
  blood donors over the past two days, additional blood and
  platelet donors will still be needed over the next several 
  weeks to help replenish the nation's supply.
